We monitor many investment managers - not just a favored few - to choose our key recommendations based on a client’s objectives and risk tolerance. One of the many factors we monitor is a manager’s long-term risk vs. reward history. This is calculated in modern portfolio terms of Beta (risk relative to a baseline) vs. Alpha (outperformance vs. risk taken). These are just two of many factors we evaluate when making investment recommendations.
